Will You Share the Glow?

One of the most beautiful images at Christmas is watching the light of Christ pass through the congregation.  The glow on everyone’s face always take my breath away.  This year will be different as we worship online, but we do want to invite you to share the light this Christmas Eve with our church family from the safety of your homes.

The light of Christ has been flowing through our church family all year long.  Thank you for your help distributing food to children and families, supporting our local and global mission partners, and for your prayers, support, and phone calls as we have navigated this year together.

This year has been spiritually, mentally, and physical challenging for everyone.  For those in nursing homes and residential facilities this year was especially difficult.  Yet into the middle of all that we have faced, Emmanuel, God-with-us, came to walk with us.  While it is tempting to count all of things we cannot do presently, we can still share the light of Christ with people inside and outside our walls.

I invite you to share the light of Christ this Christmas by:

Making a gift to our global and local mission partners

Sending a note or call a nursing home resident and wish them a merry Christmas

Stopping by to pick up your “Share the Glow Supplies” at the church office or Welcome Center.  If you need delivery to your door, please contact Pastor Cathy (cjohns@hpcumc.org) by December 23.  We will bring them to you.

Pick up your “Share the Glow” glow stick packets with instructions and supplies available at HPC outside on December 23 (3-6 p.m.)  or December 24 (10 a.m. – 12:00 noon).  You can still participate by using your own candles in your home.

Send your photo to Dana Calhoun (dcalhoun@hpcumc.org).  We will be sharing the photos with our church family online so we can share the glow of Christ together!

Worshipping with us online on Christmas Eve (4, 6, 8:30, 11)

God’s light is in you; God dwells in you.  Let us share the glow of Christ as we celebrate his birth!

Peace,

Pastor Cathy
