Musical Excellence for the Glory of God
In the same fashion that Holy Scripture is described as “The Word of God,” Sacred Music has been called “The Voice of God.” Our Music Ministry is an avenue through which participants can bless the Lord, their church and each other by offering their musical gifts as an integral, inspiring element of our worship experiences. Much more than a group of enthusiastic singers or instrumentalists, each ensemble is a Christian fellowship of caring friends who support and pray for each other in life’s joys and concerns.

Choirs
The Cathedral Choir sings in the 9:30 am Sunday service from September through June and rehearses from 7:00-9:00 pm each Thursday evening. Rooted in a nearly century-old tradition of excellence, the Cathedral Choir strives to provide sacred choral repertoire at its highest level. Choral Scholars anchor each of the four sections in this forty-plus voice choir which welcomes new members of all ages. No prepared audition is required, but previous choral experience is recommended. Childcare is provided both during rehearsal and on Sunday mornings.
Conducted by Ben Owen, Director of Music Ministries and Choirmaster
The twenty-five voice Wesley Choir brings anthems and offertories to the 8:00 am service on Sunday mornings from September through June. Weekly rehearsals are 7:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday evenings, and singers of all ages are welcome; previous choral experience is not required to join. The Wesley Choir also participates in special seasonal worship services, enjoys gathering for immaculate potlucks throughout the year, and sustains a fun and supportive atmosphere in rehearsals.

One Accord is a low voice ensemble specializing in four-part bass clef choral music. Rehearsing as needed, this spirited glee club style choir sings in Sunday services periodically throughout the year and is always a congregation favorite. All tenors and basses are welcome to join!

A fellowship of more than thirty senior sopranos and altos form the Community Choristers whose ministry takes their cheerful music, both sacred and secular, to retirement and rehabilitation communities throughout the greater Cincinnati community. The Community Choristers rehearse on Mondays from 1:00-2:30 pm. All treble singers are welcome!
Conducted by Janet Zeigler
Contemporary
HPCUMC’s Praise Team leads the 11:00 am Sunday worship services almost every Sunday of the year. The Praise Team guides the congregation in a meaningful and connected worship experience through a wide variety of contemporary praise and worship music. The team is always open to auditioning new singers and instrumentalists who love worshiping God through music and carrying out the love of Jesus.
Instrumental
The Carillon Choir brings the festive brilliance of handbell music to our worship services at 8:00, 9:30 am, and 11:00 am on select Sundays. Ringing beautiful Schulmerich handbells and Schulmerich hand chimes, the Carillon Choir rehearses on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm and has openings for new members, either experienced or just beginning. Come and join us in ringing to the glory of God!
Conducted by Jenny Cauhorn, Handbell Director and former Executive Director of Handbell Musicians of America
Throughout the year, many church and community instrumentalists offer up their musical talents by presenting solos, accompanying choral anthems, or simply playing along with the hymns in our Sunday services. If you are interested in periodically playing your instrument in a service, don’t hesitate to reach out! We are happy to accommodate all instruments and skill levels.

Children's Choirs
The Joy Singers choir is for preschool children and focuses on familiarizing kids with singing, musical skills, and Godly joy! They sing seasonally in worship. All children’s choirs meet at 10:30-11:00 on Sunday mornings, following Sunday school. All in all, Joy Singers is a whole lot of fun. All are invited to join in the joy!
The Sunshine Singers choir is for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. In rehearsals, the Sunshine Singers prepare to sing and lead in Sunday morning worship services. Occasionally, children have solo, duet, and other special opportunities to use their gift of music to glorify God. Children’s Choir is an excellent and fun way for your child to learn about worship and lead in worship. All children’s choirs meet at 10:30-11:00 on Sunday mornings during the school year, directly following Sunday school.
