Wholeness

This Sunday we will be continuing our sermon series titled “The Stations of the Resurrection.” Each week we have used a selected topic and art piece by Scott Erickson.  His artwork has been displayed in the side yard of the church now for several weeks. If you have not had the chance to view these, please do. There is a booklet by the front office explaining the artwork.

This week’s topic is on “Wholeness.”  A Google search gives us several definitions: …the state of forming a complete and harmonious whole; unity. …the state of being unbroken or undamaged. …the state of a robust good holistic life. Which definition speaks to you?

The sermon message itself will focus on the gospel of John Chapter 21:15-17.  It is a very familiar post-resurrection story about Peter.  Before Jesus’ death Peter had denied Jesus three times. Jesus now asks Peter three times, “Peter, do you love me?” Peter responds, “Yes, Lord, you know I love you.”  Peter is recommissioned by Jesus. This encounter with Jesus, the Risen One, is about Peter being restored to wholeness.

We also will be honoring our Stephen Ministers for their many years of service to the church and our community. I look forward being with you in worship this Sunday.

Blessings, in Christ,

Pastor Dave Weaver
