On June 2 Governor DeWine rescinded many of the statewide mandates related to COVID-19, specifically stating “masks optional for those who have been vaccinated.” On May 23, the COVID-19 Task Force met to consider a recommendation to the Servant Leadership Board (SLB). Consequently, the Task Force recommended to the SLB, and on Thursday, May 27, the SLB approved, the following effective June 2:
1. Masks are optional if you have been fully vaccinated, and are two weeks beyond final vaccination (for worship and small groups using the facilities during the week). If you have not been vaccinated masks are required.
2. Social distancing is important and will continue to be observed until further notice.
3. Seating for worship will continue to be every other pew until further notice.
4. Offering refreshments/finger foods, between services, will be suspended until further notice.
5. Caring for the safety of our children who are not vaccinated (specifically those under 12) the Children, Preschool, and Youth Ministry Directors will set their own guidelines/protocols for masks, and social distancing, in compliance with the CDC and Ohio Department of Health guidelines.
In addition, after discussion with the Worship Team, the worship team agreed to resume the 8:00 worship service on Rally Day, September 12. Furthermore, in an effort to provide our faith community multiple options for worship, the 8:00 service will be a weekly communion service, with the organ and Wesley Choir.
We are excited for the many opportunities before us as we continue to make our way into our new “normal,” and we look forward to seeing you in-person in the days ahead. May God’s blessings abound as together we continue to navigate the waters before us! I look forward to seeing you in Church.
Through Christ,
Pastor Doug
