We are so excited to celebrate Hope Sunday! We will have one combined worship service that includes many of our musical groups and a combined choir. We will also have the opportunity to make our yearly commitment to God’s work through our church and to share together in Holy Communion.
Our District Superintendent, Rev. Jenn Lucas, will be with us to share the message. She has shared the note below with us. We have also included a bio so that you can get to know a little bit more about her.
Following worship, we will share in a celebration meal. We are looking forward to seeing you for this special day of celebrating all of the ways that hope is embodied in and through the people and ministries of Hyde Park Community UMC!
From Jenn:
Greetings Hyde Park Community UMC,
I am excited to join you this coming Sunday for your Hope Sunday! I will be preaching on Matthew 9:35-38, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.”
What if each person who called Hyde Park Community their church home made a commitment to increasing in their worship, prayers, service, giving and action?
As we increase our prayers, we can change the world.
As we increase our service, we reach more for Jesus.
The more who are willing to go out into the community, the more who will come face to face with a follower of Jesus.
The harvest is plentiful! We need more workers. We all have a role in spreading and sharing hope to the world.
May you be a shining light!
I look forward to seeing you in worship on Sunday.
God Bless,
Rev. Jenn Lucas
