The Enneagram is a powerful tool for understanding yourself and others through discovery, reflection, and practice. In this introductory Enneagram workshop we’ll explore the nine distinct personality types that reveal the deeper “why” behind our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Through the Enneagram’s lens, we can begin to understand the layers of personality we’ve developed throughout our lives. Like a mirror, it reflects hidden truths about our strengths, struggles, and the unique paths we walk.

Over the course of two days, Katie Whitlock, an Enneagram practitioner and facilitator, will walk through the structure of the Enneagram as well as each personality type. Whether you’re new to the Enneagram and need help figuring out your number or just need a recap of each type, the Type Discovery Workshop will set you up with a strong foundational knowledge and a hunger for more. Another workshop with the same content will be offered August 23-24. These workshops will be followed up with an 8-week class beginning September 8 on Mondays from 7:00pm-8:30pm. All are are invited to join!

The Enneagram Type Discovery Workshop cost is $65 for all materials and includes lunch on Saturday. All are welcome to take part on this journey of self-discovery and growth!

Important Details

The Enneagram is a personality system that describes nine core personality types, each with its own motivations, fears, and ways of interacting with the world. It is often used for self-discovery, personal growth, and improving relationships.

How It Works

The Enneagram is based on a nine-pointed diagram, with each number representing a different personality type. These types are connected in specific ways, showing how people may change under stress or growth.

Each type is shaped by:

  • Core Motivation – What drives a person’s actions and decisions.
  • Core Fear – What a person most wants to avoid.
  • Strengths & Weaknesses – The natural tendencies and challenges each type faces.

The Nine Types

While each person is unique, the Enneagram suggests that people primarily identify with one of these nine types:

  1. The Reformer – Principled, perfectionistic, and idealistic.
  2. The Helper – Caring, generous, and people-pleasing.
  3. The Achiever – Ambitious, adaptable, and success-oriented.
  4. The Individualist – Creative, sensitive, and introspective.
  5. The Investigator – Analytical, curious, and independent.
  6. The Loyalist – Loyal, responsible, and security-focused.
  7. The Enthusiast – Adventurous, spontaneous, and fun-loving.
  8. The Challenger – Strong, assertive, and protective.
  9. The Peacemaker – Easygoing, agreeable, and conflict-avoidant.

Why People Use It

The Enneagram helps individuals understand themselves and others better, leading to:
Personal growth – Recognizing patterns and overcoming limitations.
Better relationships – Understanding how others think and feel.
Workplace improvement – Enhancing teamwork and communication.

Unlike some personality systems that focus just on behavior, the Enneagram goes deeper, exploring why people act the way they do. It is widely used in psychology, business, coaching, and personal development.

Meet Katie Whitlock

Enneagram Practitioner and Facilitator

Katie has been lucky enough to study under the tutelage of the “Godmother of the Enneagram” and best-selling author, Suzanne Stabile. She has used what Suzanne taught her – combined with her experience in both the education and hospitality realms – to create engaging and impactful programs to help others access the transformative wisdom of the Enneagram.

Katie will be offering both an introductory workshop as well as a 8-week intensive series that dive deep into the structure and meaning of the Enneagram as well as each specific personality type. Her approach combines in-depth knowledge of the Enneagram with interactive experiences, allowing people to explore their personality types and understand how these insights can enhance both their personal relationships and their faith journey.
