The last Super Serve Saturday (S3) is May 21st before we take a break from S3 for the summer, but not a break from serving with others and strengthening our local partnerships! There are multiple opportunities and ways to get connected and stay active in living out our faith over the next few months.
Starting May 31st – August 31st we will be hosting 4 families with Found House Interfaith Hospitality Network. Through our partnership, we are working to ensure families have access to temporary shelter and connect families to the housing they deserve. While we will be housing families throughout most of the summer (not during VBS or Summer Impact weeks) we are in need of people to help with laundry (a great option to serve at home), provide meals, serve as an evening host helping with dinner/playing with the children and act as an overnight host sleeping at the church. This is a great option for small groups, friends, and families to serve together. A sign up will be available by May 15 or you can contact myself or Laura Warren to get connected to serve.
Did you know that there are over 80 children already registered for this year’s Vacation Bible School (VBS)?! It’s looking like this might be the biggest VBS in years and we can use your help with the leading the different stations or build relationships with children by being a crew leader. Knights of the North Castle VBS is happening June 13–17 with preschool in the morning (9:00-11:30am) and elementary in the evening (6:00-8:30pm). Finally, this year we are also supporting Wesley Chapel Mission’s Summer Day Camp for Pre-K through 5th grade. The camp runs Monday through Friday from 11:45am – 4:00pm starting June 20th – July 29th. You can serve the whole camp day or sign up to serve for a shift (11:45am – 3:00pm or 2:45pm – 4:00pm). The summer camp includes a healthy lunch, academic instruction with a focus on literacy, enriching activities, day trips (Thursdays), and pool days (Tuesdays).
