Book Discussion of “The Gifts of Imperfection” by Brené Brown
Mondays in September – October
Keystone in Hyde Park (3384 Erie Ave.)
Start your week off right with a beverage and meaningful conversation with other young adults! As a bonus, Keystone offers half off Mac and Cheese on Mondays, too!
We are doing a 5-part Book Discussion on Brené Brown’s book “The Gifts of Imperfection” at Keystone in Hyde Park in September and October – on Mondays from 7:00-8:30p. Sociologist, researcher, Ted Talk storyteller Brené has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy.
In her first New York Times best-selling book, “The Gifts of Imperfection” Brené’s “ten guideposts” are benchmarks for authenticity that can help anyone establish a practice for a life of honest beauty—a perfectly imperfect life. Now more than ever, we all need to cultivate feelings of self-worth, as well as acceptance and love for ourselves. A new way forward means we can’t hold on too tightly to our own self-defeating thoughts or the displaced pain in our world. Instead, we can embrace the imperfection.
The discussion will be framed in such a way that even if you haven’t had a chance to read, you will be able to participate in a meaningful way. Also, even if you haven’t joined us for previous chapters, anyone new is welcome to jump in where we are.
